Carl & Jackie’s Retirement
Celebrating Gill Insulation’s 70th Anniversary
Gill Insulation was founded in 1948 by Commander Norman Gill & was originally based in Stoke to serve the potteries.
The Nottingham site was the next branch to open, this is where the Gill Group retains its Head Office, working alongside operations in Ipswich.
Gill Insulation was later acquired by Encon Insulation Ltd in 1986.

To celebrate Gills’ 70th year in the business, we organised a party night on the 12th of May, where we invited staff, suppliers and ex/retired staff to help us celebrate. We enjoyed an evening of food/drinks and the opportunity for people to meet and mix with those whom they don’t often get the chance to catch up with. The whole night went down a success with a 5 piece band and a DJ. Considering the feedback given, the 70th Anniversary party was a night to remember!
Steve Archer Retirement
On Friday 13th April 2018, Steve Archer retired from Gill Insulation.
Steve would have been with the company 50 years this summer!
Steve has worked within the fabrication shop at Gills since he started in 1968.
Below, he is pictured in the workshop with Richard Drew, Group Managing Director.
We wish Steve a long and happy retirement!

Lagger of the year: Alan Churchill
Alan has been with Gill Insulation since leaving school in the 90’s & has always been a highly valued team member.
The Lagger Of The Year award is presented to the Engineer who receives the most votes from their colleagues in the annual vote; both site operatives and office staff are entitled to vote.
Alan was successful in winning the award, despite having two broken wrists after taking a tumble from a scaffold, so we wish Alan a speedy recovery as well as congratulating him on his win!!
